WITH LOVE FROM PALESTINE
For thousands of years, anointing oils has been a ritual of care in Palestine and the Levant— passed from hand to hand, generation to generation.
The olive tree stands at the heart of Palestinian culture, woven into art, poetry, faith, and everyday life as a symbol of resilience, care, and continuity. At ZËIYT, olive oil is more than an ingredient. It is heritage — a living connection between land, body, and ritual.
For centuries, olive oil touched the hair, skin, and spirit as both nourishment and ceremony. Before prayer, the body was anointed in preparation for stillness and presence. During ceremonies, oil marked passages, blessings, and sacred beginnings. It was used to invite healing, consecrate the spirit, and anoint royalty — kings, queens, and holy figures touched by oil as a symbol of grace, protection, and divine favor.
Our oil is sourced from Salfit, Palestine — a region known as the land of olives, where ancient groves have been tended for generations. The olives are harvested by hand from trees between 1,000 and 3,000 years old — among the oldest living olive trees in the world.
Harvest takes place each October and November, led by local Palestinian families and farmers. Our extra virgin olive oil is coldpressed close to where it is grown, preserving its full nutritional integrity without industrial processing.
We work directly with a producer who follows ethical and responsible practices: strictly rain and sun-fed cultivation, no toxic fertilizers, only hand-picked, and a deep respect for both land and people. Methods preserved for millennia.
Palestinian olive oil is at the heart of our brand, reflecting our deep respect and love for the land, its olive trees, and the farming heritage rooted within it. Through long-term partnerships with Palestinian farmers, we aim to build lasting relationships that support farming families and strengthen their communities.
As an extension of this commitment, 5% of all profits are dedicated to fair-trade farming practices and thoughtful initiatives that benefit Palestinian olive groves, farmers, and the landscapes they call home.
For us, sustainability is not a claim — it is continuity. Of land, craft, and community. A way to protect what is sacred, a return to nature, and to being.
